Effectively capture male adult Gypsy Moth flyers. Place 2-4 traps per acre starting in early to mid-July. trap kits come complete with assembly instructions and monitoring guidelines. Traps can be stored indoors and reused the next season with new lure and vaportape strip. Consult with your local Ag Department or extension agent to determine emergence dates for your own locality.
   Near mid-May, first emergence of larvae will occur. It is good practice at this time to place a sticky barrier around tree trunk. This will prevent larvae from infesting trees, or if already infested, this prevents further crawler damage. This works only after larvae have finished "ballooning", the process of dispersing themselves during first instar by dropping from the tree on threads of silk to be carried by the wind to other areas. Use our 3" x 1000' gypsy moth tree wrap coated with a thin band of Tanglefoot Pest Barrier. Stretch wrap comes with builtin handle. Minimal maintenance is required to ensure sticky barrier is working properly.
